I love you, Jesus.

What can I say God, when asked to choose between a man who was close to everything I had ever imagined.. and You, I chose You.

I've always wondered about how much You meant to me. I wondered if it was just because it was convenient or because I didn't know any other life. I wondered if I was picking up my cross daily and following You because every day I fall short of Your glory. But You know, I chose you. I chose you when it meant giving up love, and being loved.

I chose you when it meant losing the only glimpse of love that I've known. I chose you when it felt like I was walking away from a relationship that felt secure and embracing.

Roberto despite not being a church-going Christian, was surely made in your image because he showed me something of your character. He promised never to hurt me and he didn't. He promised to be true, and he was. He made hard decisions. He was kind. He showed me something of a father's love, in how he loved his children.

I have never liked children. But Roberto has opened that door in my life. When I see how much he loves his children, even when he is no longer in a relationship with their mother it makes me realise what children bring into your life. They make a man more tender. They make a man selfless and sacrificial.

Father, when I walked down the driveway this morning, I was comforted by the knowledge that I had a God who loved me, who looks down upon me with compassion, who cries when I cry and who wants me to be happy.

Matthew 6: 25-27
Do Not Worry
25 "For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 "Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they? 27 "And who of you by being worried can add a single hour to his life?…

Matthew 7: 10-12
Ask, Seek, Knock
10 "Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him! 12 "In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
